Talent Prize, un premio buono e giusto

Roma

Grazie a tutti. Evviva il Talent Prize!

Talent Prize, a good and just prize

Giulio Squillacciotti is the winner of Talent Prize 2019, the contest that I have founded 12 years ago, thinking about how good, just and due is to reward those young artists who dedicate their lives to visual arts: painting, photography, video, sculpture and so on. The other artists of this edition of Talent Prize are: Arianna Todisco, who obtains a special mention from the jury, then, in random order Edoardo Aruta, Giulia Berra, Roland Burkart, Agostino Iacurci, Letizia Calori (Calori & Maillard), Davide Mancini Zanchi, Francesco Ciavaglioli, Simona Andrioletti. Furthermre, there are the Special prizes, assigned to Genuardi/Ruta (Emanuele Emmanuele Special prize), to Federico Delfrati (UTOPIA Special prize), a Valerio Polici (Inside Art Special prize) e ad Andrea Lo Giudice (Fondamenta Special prize).

After reaching numbers that have few precedents in Italy (almost 9.000 artists registered during the different editions, more than 160 prizes awarded), I have the duty and the pleasure of remembering three things: 1) If the award has become a reference for the whole art system, even at international level, it is thanks to the work of the jury. Over the years we have had the best of the country and we have seen the qualitative work they have done; 2) We have count all these years on the support of the Municipality of Rome, which in 12 years has always made the Capitoline museums available to us, and of the President Emmanuele F.M. Emanuele, who with the Fondazione Roma first and the Fondazione Terzo Pilastro then, never failed to lend his support; 3) We were able to show that there is still so much talent in Italy and that we all have to do more to support it. Thank you all. Long live the Talent Prize!
